Tigrayans in Ethiopia are suffering

Since November 2020, the Ethiopian government along with the Eritrean government and Amhara regional government have waged a genocidal war on the people of Tigray.

Tigray is Facing

A FAMINE

Similar to the Ethiopian Famine of the 1980s

Call to Action

We call on the World Food Programme (WFP) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to resume aid for the entirety of the population that depends on it.

We also call on the Ethiopian government to do its part in diverting this humanitarian crisis.

Raise awareness using #TigrayFamine.

How did we get here?

  • Agricultural destruction as part of the #TigrayGenocide
  • Post-war humanitarian and political conditions that have yet to be resolved
  • Drought in various parts of Tigray
  • Lack of significant funding from the federal government to alleviate suffering
  • Millions displaced unable to return to their land and crops due to ongoing occupations
  • Suspension of aid due to a widespread diversion involving officials across the country
  • Shortage of seasonal rainfall and damaging rainfall mixed with hail
  • Desert and tree locusts destroying crops

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE DIED SO FAR. PARTICULARLY IN THE EASTERN AND SOUTHERN PARTS OF TIGRAY.
